Year 5 and 6 500 Words Presentation Assembly
All of the children in Years 5 and 6 wrote a 500 word short story to be entered into the BBC Radio 2 breakfast show competition.
We do not know how they got on but their teachers were so impressed that we had our own special St. Francis competition. Our governors judged the entries (anonymously of course!) and we held a special assembly to read extracts and to award certificates within the different categories.
28th March 2018
Our thanks to the School Governors who judged the competition for us and presented the certificates to the 29 finalists and overall 7 winners. All of the children wrote some highly imaginative and creative stories.
A special mention to Jamie Turner-Martinez (Best Opening), Joseph Newstead (Best Character Description), Emilie Tarran (Best use of Language) Gracie Gardham (Best Simile), Julia Piwoda (Best Setting) Maxine Java (Best Ending.) Our overall Year 5 Short Story winner was Lilian Gilbert with her story entitled “The Darkness”. The best overall Year 6 Short Story winner was Summer Davis with her story entitled “Luck.”
Congratulations to all of our winners!
